The official website of the animated film which will adapt the manga Kono Sekai no Fumiyo Katasumi or Kono has revealed that its premiere in Japanese theaters is scheduled for November 12.
Writer-director Sunao Katabuchi announcing the film in 2012. The first designs were shown Chie Uratani. The animation studio MAPPA is in charge of the film, being GENCO who produces.
The film got funded in March 2015 through a campaign of crowfunding with which reached the sum of 36,224,000 yen, exceeding the $ 20 million needed to give the green light to the project.
The story chronicles the life of a family living in the city of Kure (Hiroshima) during World War II.
Suzu know there Uranus, a young wife who moves to the city of Kure from a small fishing village Shusaku Hojo after marrying a naval officer who proposes marriage and who knows since he was a child. Suzu perservará with great determination and courage through this difficult period the country.
The manga was published from 2007 to 2009 in the pages of Weekly Manga Action of Futabasha, having been collected the work in a total of three volumes. The play received the Award of Merit in Manga at Japan Media Arts Festival 2009.
The play was adapted prior to actual image in 2011.
