'Idol Jihen' idols fighting for policies that will encourage TV in January

The official website of the multimedia project Jihen Mages Idol has announced that this will receive an animated television adaptation that will premiere on TV Tokyo and BS Fuji next January.

The announcement was accompanied by a first promotional video.

Daisuke Yoshida (director of animation at Koro Soten) will be the project manager under the MAPPA and VOLN studies. Naoya Takayama (Chihayafuru, Supernatural) monitor scripts, being Sumino Kawashima (Chihayafuru, Kurenai) and soutarou Hayashi (Photo Kano, Kurenai) who write them. Mai Ishii (Inazuma Eleven, Hunter x Hunter) is responsible for the character designs and animation direction. Among the original character designers are CUTEG, Tiv, Mottsun *, Akemi Mikoto, Yosai Kuchi and Mamu Mitsumomo. Tiv has been responsible for the original character designs for the anime. Tsunku♂ is responsible for producing the opening and ending of the series.

The cast confirmed so far are:

Sarara Yashima as Natsuki Hoshina, Niigata Prefecture
Mai Fuchigami as Shizuka Onimaru, Fukuoka Prefecture
Reina Ueda as Sachie Kondo, Toyama Prefecture
The official website of the project has more characters from the franchise listed with their voice actors, but so far has not confirmed his appearance in the anime.

The project was announced in 2014 as a social game for smartphones to be launched in the autumn of that year, although at the moment has not yet come to launch.

The game's story moved the player to a Japan where the economy had collapsed and distrust of politicians was at record levels. An idol called Kagura Mikazuki establish a new government with the confidence of the people and would put idols in positions of power, leading to a rapid economic recovery. After 20 years, Kagura continues to lead the Japanese government but decides to withdraw from the world of politics. Now the 47 idols who work in the Diet will compete for the post of Prime Minister of the country.

The current web however differs slightly from that initial story and it's a corrupt government idols face as "members of the Diet idol" and must work for the Japanese people to regain joy through their songs and dances. The idols of the Diet belong to seven different factions.
