Go-chan, Asahi TV mascot, stars in an animated film

Since TV Asahi have announced that their pet Go-chan will receive an animated film that will be called Go-chan: Moco to Chinju no Mori no Nakama-tachi that will commemorate the fifth anniversary of his birth. The announcement was accompanied by a trailer.

 With an hour of duration the film will aspire to like both children and adults. In the story you will see how Go-chan comes to earth in search of the "Plasma of heart" that will help restore the peace of his home planet, EX Panda. On Earth she meets a girl named Moko who lives on a farm with her grandfather and several strange animals called "Chinjumin". Together they will pass calm and joyful days, but the problems will appear when the humans invade the forest of the Chinjumin with intention to capture them.

The cast will also feature several TV presenters Asahi, including Naoki Tsuboi and Shihoko Hagino as the mother and father of Moko, Chie Honma as Chibe-san and Naoko Kubota as the narrator.

Tetsuo Yasumi (Atashin'chi, Doraemon: Shin Nobita no Uchu Kaitakushi) will direct the film under Shinei Animation, being Yuichi Shinpo (Doraemon: Shin Nobita no Uchu Katakushi, Ashita Tenki ni Naare) who writes the script. Sanrio collaborates in the production.

Singer and lyricist Marie Ueda has written the ending, "Niji wa Kakaru kara".

The cast of the film will participate in an event to be held on January 29 at United Cinemas Toyosu in Tokyo.

Go-chan debuted in 2011, being a design by Yuko Yamaguchi, responsible for the original Hello Kitty design. The character was born to promote channel 5 of TV Asahi.
