The "Project Altair" of MAPA is confirmed as an adaptation of the Shokoku no Altair manga

The official website of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine has revealed that MAPPA's new "Project Altair" anime will be an animated television adaptation of Kotono Kato's historic Shokoku no Altair fantasy manga.

Kazuhiro Furuhashi (Rurouni Kenshin, Getbackers, Mobile Suit Gundam UC) will lead the project.

The story is played by Mahmut, a youth of the political and military management of Pasha in Türkiye. The council is divided between war lovers and pacifists, and the threat of the belligerent Empire puts the security of Türkiye in a bad situation. As the youngest military commander in the country, Mahmut is determined to keep the peace, but with so much at stake and with a whole network of alliances and enemies, the young man is soon to face reality.

Kato threw the sleeve on the pages of the Monthly Shonen Sirius in 2007 and its volume number 18 will go on sale next January 17th.
