It was announced that Sekai Saikyou's anime Arifureta Shokugyou will have a prequel episode titled “Prologue” which will be released through streaming platforms in Japan on March 20.

This episode aired during the "Sakei Saikyou-Live & Act- Arifureta Shokugyou" event in January, and chronicles the events around Hajime Nagumo and his classmates during their school days before being transported to the next world. Therefore, this episode is a prequel to the first episode of the anime.

For its part, Ryo Shirakome began publishing the light novels through the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in November 2013. The Overlap Bunko label began publishing on paper with illustrations by Takayaki in June 2015.

The play has inspired several manga adaptations and an anime adaptation directed by Kinji Yoshimoto at White Fox Studios and released in July 2019. A second season is confirmed.
Synopsis
High school student Hajime Nagumo is bullied by his peers for being paired with school idol Kaori. When he and the rest of the class are transported to a fantastic world, all of his companions receive powerful magical abilities, while Hajime only gains basic alchemy magic to transmute solid materials, a common thing for blacksmiths.

During a raid to a dungeon, he is betrayed by one of his companions and thrown to the bottom of it. Hajime survives the fall and begins creating weapons to escape the dungeon and become stronger. On his way, he meets the vampire Yue, and is later joined by the rabbit-eared girl Shea, the perverted dragon Tio, and others.
