The compilation film of the first season, Gekijouban Hibike! Euphonium ~ Kitauji Koukou Suisoraku-Bu e Yokoso ~, premiered Saturday in Japan. The second season will continue with the story.
The first season premiered in spring 2015 and adapted the original novel by Ayano Takeda. The story is starring the band Kitauji Institute in their aspirations to reach national competitions. However, since the change of director, they have never managed to move from the competition of the prefecture.
