Witch and pollon in a promotional video for Little Witch Academia

The television series franchise Little Witch Academia Studio Trigger has shown today a first promotional video. The series will premiere in January 2017.

Yoh Yoshinari will be the director and character designer under Studio Trigger. Michiru Shimada, who wrote the screenplay for the film, is responsible for the composition of this time series. Shuhei Handa, animator in previous installments, will be the character designer. Masanobu Nomura (Panty & Stocking, Kiznaiver) will be the artistic director, while Michiru Oshima composed music.

Yukiko Kakita will do the color, being Daisuke Naoki Okumura and Yorozu responsible for photography. Takafumi Hori will be the main animator, while Kentarou Tsubone be the editor and Jun Watanabe sound director. The sound effects will be Kiyotaka Kawada.

The story of the series revolves around Akko, who as a child saw the witch Shiny Chariot on a show and since then dreams of becoming a witch. Years later enters the Nova Moon Academy, a school for witches run by Shiny Chariot. In this new environment you will meet new friends and live their school life. At school she gives riding lessons brooms or magic, but Akko and her friends Sucy Lotte and will only get into trouble.

The series will consist of 30-minute episodes and will premiere on Netflix.

Little Witch Academia began it being an animated short for Anime Mirai project in 2013, debuting in July 2015 the sequel film Little Witch Academia: Mahou Shikake not Paradeque was financed through Kickstarter.
