Through the official website for the animated adaptation of the Date A Live light novels which are written by Kōshi Tachibana and illustrated by Tsukano, it was revealed that the series will feature a fourth season which will be titled Date A Live IV. Details about its production team, voice cast, or release date have yet to be released.
Date A Live
The light novels written by Kōshi Tachibana inspired an anime adaptation by AIC Plus + studios released in April 2013, followed by a second season produced by Production IMS released in April 2014. The third season changed studio again, this time to JCStaff and was released in March 2019.
Tachibana began publishing the light novel series on March 19, 2011 through the Fujimi Shobo publisher and it will be on March 19 when the final volume is published, which will be titled Tohka Good End.
An anime adaptation of the Date A Bullet light novels is confirmed but no production details have been revealed.
Synopsis
Thirty years ago, a strange phenomenon called the Space Earthquake devastated central Eurasia, taking with it the lives of more than 150 million people. Since then, smaller space earthquakes have been manifesting around the world.
Shidou Itsuka, an apparently normal high school student meets a girl at the epicenter of a space earthquake. He is informed by his sister Kotori that this girl is one of the spirits that, by making an appearance in the world, are the cause of these space earthquakes. He also learns that his sister is the captain of the ship Ratatoskr. She recruits him in order to make use of his mysterious ability to seal the powers of the spirits. In order to prevent them from becoming a threat to humanity. However, there is a downside. To seal the powers of a Spirit, Shidou must make him fall in love with him.
