The Japanese publisher Kodansha announced on April 14 that the publication of many of its magazines has been affected by the state of emergency enacted on April 7 in Tokyo, which will cause a delay in the publication of its next issues.
One of the magazines that will be delayed will be the Bessatsu Shonen, which is monthly and publishes works such as Attack of the Titans, Flying Witch, Arslan Senki, UQ Holder! and many more popular series. The next edition was expected to go on sale on May 9.
Other magazines that will be delayed include Morning Two, Ane Friend, Young Magazine, Gekkan Young, Good! Afternoon (Kutei Dragons), HastKiss, Comic tint, Honey Milk and Magazine R.
On social media, they stated that "it is expected that we will not be able to maintain a normal publication for some time" because the state of emergency affects "publication activities, which include editing, production and distribution." This will also include web versions of the magazines.
Meanwhile, on the Twitter account of the Weekly Shonen Magazine, home of works such as Domestic na Kanojo and The Seven Deadly Sins, it was mentioned that the publication of the magazine will not be affected at this time and that its next issue will be released in the usual date, that is, Wednesday, April 15.
